Ways to Annoy Your Roommates
Whether you are a college student or a young professional trying to save up money by splitting your costs with another, having a roommate can be a difficult experience. Apart from the invasion of privacy, dealing with another individual on a daily basis can get tricky quickly, especially with people who have different habits. Many ways to annoy your roommate exist, and are best avoided if at all possible (for the sanity of both you and your roommate).
-
Midnight Talking
-
One surefire way to annoy your roommate is by speaking loudly (and laughing loudly) for hours on the phone at midnight, when your roommate is attempting to get some peaceful and uninterrupted sleep. This is particularly annoying and obnoxious when you share just one bedroom. For even more annoyance, be sure to speak loudly when your roommate needs to be up very early the next morning for an important school exam.
Refrigerator
-
Everyone has her own habits and routines, especially when it comes to food and drink. For instance, many people enjoy starting their day off with a bowl of cereal or a sliced apple. To annoy your roommate, consider hiding their milk in a spot of the refrigerator where it is difficult to find. Another option is to leave their morning orange juice on the kitchen counter overnight so by the time they want it, it is unpleasantly lukewarm, and they are forced to drink something else.
-
Pay Your Bills Late
-
One extremely annoying and unfair thing to do to your roommates is to not pay your bills on time. For roommates who are sharing an apartment, the bills are often just in one individual's name, such as a landline telephone or electricity bill. Paying your bills a few days late is one very irritating thing to do to your roommate. However, it might also get you kicked out of the apartment, so be warned.
Partying
-
Most people consider their place of residence to be something of a sanctuary. One way to truly annoy your roommate is constantly having people over, especially if your guests are loud. If your roommate is attempting to get some important homework done or relax in front of the television after a long day of work, start a mini party with some of your closest friends, and crank the music way up. You are sure to receive a very annoyed reaction immediately.
