Roses and Glittery Twigs With Candles
-
A striking and easy to make centerpiece starts with a tall, clear glass cylindrical vase. Fill the vase 1/3 full with water. Mound a dozen or more red roses so that they are just above the top of the vase. Fill the vase to the top with clear glass marbles to hide the rose stems. Spray several tall twigs with spray adhesive and cover them with clear glitter. Insert the twigs into the center of the roses so that the twigs rise about 2 feet above the roses. Arrange six or more votive candles in clear glass holders around the base of the vase. Scatter rose petals around the candles.
Floating Orchids and Candles
-
A simple arrangement can be made into an understated and elegant centerpiece. Using a round, clear glass bowl that is low, fill it to the halfway point with water. Cut three phalaenopsis or cymbidium orchids from the main stock of blooms and float them in the water. Add three floating candles to the bowl. Place the bowl on a tiled mirror. Arrange several votive candles in glass holders around the vase on the mirror. Scatter several orchids around the base of the bowl.

Pearls and Candlelight
-
Candlelight and pearls are romantic elements and can be combined to create a romantic centerpiece. Begin with a 4-inch pillar candle covered by a clear glass chimney that is just slightly taller than the candle. Center the candle and its chimney in a clear glass square vase. The vase should be as high or a little higher than the glass chimney. There will be a space between the vase and the chimney. Fill this space with large faux pearls mixed with faux rose petals. Center the vase on a tiled mirror and place several votive candles in clear glass holders around the base of the vase. Scatter rose petals among the votive candles.
A Wreath as a Centerpiece
-
Using a wreath as a centerpiece on a table can be a very effective. Use a base of mixed greens for the 8-inch wreath. The greens should be abundant, fresh and lush. Tuck roses or other flowers among the greens. Place a 6-inch pillar candle in the center of the wreath. Rose petals can be scattered in the center of the table around the wreath.
