Battleship Games for Kids
Many battleship games for kids are online. Most follow a similar format. In these games, a grid of invisible enemy ships and a gird of the player's visible ships appear. The player tries to sink the enemy ships by guessing the position of the enemy ships. Some battleship game variants are educational. These games require that the player solve a math problem after the player successfully hits a ship to completely sink it.

In Duckster's "Battleship Game" your battleships appear on the right hand board and the enemy's fleet is on the left hand board. The enemy's ships are invisible. In the game, you fire by clicking within the boundariess of the computer's fleet. Every time you fire, either a blue circle or a red fire icon will appear on the grid. The blue circle indicates a miss and the red fire icon represents a hit. Once a red fire icon appears, click in the vicinity of the fire icon to destroy the other parts of the ship. A red ship icon will appear once you hit all the adjacent squares that the computer's invisible ship was on. In the meantime, your ships will be fired upon as the game plays out.

Battle the One-Step Equations

Practice solving math equations when you play "Battle the One-Step Equations." In this game you first position the ships in your fleet by pressing the reposition button. You then start the game and click the blank grid of invisible enemy ships. The computer then takes a turn firing at your visible ships on the battle grid to the left. When you hit the enemy's ship, an equation appears with multiple choice answers. If you select the right answer a black dot is placed on the enemy ship's position that you hit. If you don't answer the question right, a orange icon is placed instead of the black dot. Sinking the enemy's ship requires that a black dot be placed on each grid square that the enemy ship is directly over. This means that you have to answer the equations right to sink the ship.
