While on the surface this isn't a site designed for kids, their "Resources for Kids, Parents and Teachers" section offers a large alphabetical list of sites covering every topic from agriculture to weather.

If your child has an easier time staying focused with animated educational materials, BrainPOP offers short, easy-to-understand movies on a wide variety of educational topics. Its science section features movies on dozens of topics. You can either search for a particular topic, such as birds, clouds or mountains, or by category, such as "Energy, Matter and Chemistry" or "Famous Scientists."
