A side ponytail is perfect for a wedding hairstyle. Soft tendrils of hair, swept to the side, is a romantic look. You need long hair, at least three inches past the shoulders, in order to create this wedding ponytail hairstyle. If the hair is not wavy or curly on its own, use hot rollers or a curling iron. Sweep the hair over one shoulder and secure it with a rubber band. Wrap a ribbon around the rubber band.

Alter a standard ponytail by creating twists on the top of the head. Before putting the hair in a ponytail, twist the hair both on the right side and left sides of the head.
