Activities to Do With Kids While Snowed In
All snowed in with nothing to do, a snow day can turn into a day of raging chaos if you don't keep the kids occupied. Children have a much shorter attention span and need a slew of entertainment. No matter how good relaxing on the couch in front of daytime TV sounds, you should really engage in a few activities with your kids. Not only will this occupy the little ones, it gives you a chance to bond with them as well.

Snow Sports
-
Sled down the snowy hill with your kids in laughter. Just because the roads are closed doesn't mean you can't take your kids outside. Sledding, snowboarding, skiing or whatever snow sports you desire, getting active makes a fun and cheerful time. Tell your little one to hold on tight and sled down the hill with him in laughter, or race to the finish on your ski--whoever wins gets a sweet treat. Even taking a walk in the snow can be fun. Just bundle up, grab a hot cocoa and enjoy the entire neighborhood under a big blanket of snow.
Arts and Crafts
-
Spend time doing arts and crafts with your kids. If the kids just want to stay in, engage them in an arts and crafts project. Choose something easy and fairly effortless to do, so it can be finished within a day's time. Showcase your child's talent by drawing and painting with her. String a necklace together with colorful beads. Make a rocket with used paper towel rolls. For more creative ideas, just search online. Not only are you spending quality time together, your kids can create something they are proud of.

Indoor Games
-
Put puzzles together with your kids. For a fun time inside the house, you can always play games. If your kids have a lot of energy, start a game of hide and go seek. Let them laugh and run around. If your kids are demure, play board games, Legos or puzzles together. Though quieter, board games still help pass time in a fun way.
Bake Treats Together
-
Make the best out of a snow day by baking treats. Toasty cookies fresh out of the oven and a house full of sweet smells--delicious thoughts to look forward to as you begin a fun-filled snow day with your children. With the frigid temperature outside, your kitchen makes a warm escape. Whip out the flour, the vanilla and the chocolate morsels, and start a batch of gooey mix. Ask your little helpers to batter and roll, and read a story while they anticipate the treats to bake. Make the best out of a cold day with warm memories.
