Weddings are well-known for lovely decorations, especially in the bouquets that the bride and bridal party carry. Bouquets can even make a table setting look all the better. Many aspects of a wedding, including the decor are expensive. Handmade silk bridal crafts look elegant and save the happy couple some money.

  1. Silk Flower Bouquets

    • Gather up a bunch of silk flowers. You'll find flowers for every style and type from orchids to roses and in every color. Pick out a bunch to fit your theme and gather the silk flowers into a pleasing arrangement. Mix in some faux baby's breath, ferns and foliage. Wrap the flower stems tightly in a wide silk ribbon from the base to nearly the bottom of the flowers. Secure with spray adhesive. Spritz the silk flowers with some floral perfume.

    Silk Ribbon Flowers

    • Make bouquets of silk ribbon flowers for the bridal party. Cut 12 inches of ribbon that is at least one-inch wide. Slip stitch along one edge of the ribbon. Pull the ribbon tight along the stitching to form a bunched up flower. Sew the raw ends of the ribbon together.

Decorate your flower with glitter, fabric glue or glue on rhinestones. Attach the ribbon flower to a "stalk" in the form of a green pipe cleaner or floral wire through the center of the ribbon flower. Make up a bunch of these flowers and use them in bouquets, boutonnieres and other decorations.

    Origami and Ribbon Flowers

    • Look up instructions for and fold several origami paper flowers. Wrap several pipe cleaners with silk ribbon. Thread the top of a pipe cleaner through the center of a paper flower and secure by bending it slightly. Glue a small button to the center of the flower to cover the pipe cleaner. Gather several of these paper flowers together and wrap them tightly with a band of ribbon. Tie the ribbon in a nice bow.

    Ribbon Flower Bouquets

    • Cut eight pieces of thin ribbon about six inches long. Lay them across one another so they intersect at the middle of each ribbon. Place a couple of stitches in the center to hold the ribbon together. Fold the ends of the ribbons over so the edges meet in the center. Place a dot of glue on top to secure in place. Glue a button to the center to cover the raw edges of ribbon. Attach some floral wire to the back of the ribbon for the stem. Make up a bunch of these for bouquets.
