If the bride and groom are looking to have a shaped cake instead of a traditional stacked cake, create them one that focuses on their hobbies and interest. For example, if the bride and groom are world-travelers, you can design a cake that resembles a set of luggage with stamps from the different places that they have traveled to as a couple.

Cake toppers can be so much more than the traditional bride and groom figurines. Really tap in to the personality of the bride and groom when trying to design an original cake topper. For example, if they are in to farming, you can request that the cake designer make a topper with a bride and groom in farm-style attire riding on a John Deere tractor. If they are wanting to use bride and groom figurines, you can custom-make them out of fondant to resemble the actual bride and groom dressing them using the couple's favorite attire, such as the bride's favorite red high heels.

Custom Scroll Design

Wedding cakes do not have to be over the top in order to be original. If the bride and groom have asked you do come up with a custom scroll design for their cake, request that the bride provide you with a sample of the lace on her dress. Other ideas include a candy buffet, caramel apples and a chocolate fountain where guests can dip pieces of un-iced cake in the chocolate.
