Incorporate your mother into your bridal shower to show appreciation for her wedding help.

When a woman is getting married, it is customary to throw bridal showers in her honor. Occasionally, the bride may wish to incorporate the role her mother is playing in her wedding with shower games especially for the mother of the bride. The nature of such games depend on the mother's personality, as well as the number of players available.

  1. Word Chain

    • This game honors the work that mother of the bride is contributing to the upcoming wedding. To play, have guests sit in a circle and name one word that describes the mother of the bride. Guests can say words that are more personal, if they have a relationship with the bride, or simple words like "fashionable" if they do not know the mother too well. At the end of the game, each person must name their own word in addition to the words mentioned before them. The person who can remember the most words wins.

    Memory Game

    • This game requires a number of people that know the mother of the bride well. Arrange the group into two teams and provide each teach with pen and paper. Have each team make a list of as many memories of the mother of the bride and her daughter as possible. Memories related to just the mother also are acceptable. There is a seven-minute limit to complete the game. At the end of the seven minutes, each team reads off the memories they listed. The team with the most memories wins.

    Mother of the Bride Bingo

    • Have the mother of the bride create a list of tasks and errands she must complete before the wedding day. Tasks may include purchasing a new dress or contacting the caterer. Create or purchase bingo cards and markers and have each guest write down the tasks they think the mother of the bride must complete on their bingo cards. Have the mother of the ride read off her list as the guests mark the tasks they have written. The first player to achieve a diagonal, horizontal or vertical line wins the game.

    Motherly Advice

    • Have your guests write down the best and worst advice they have received from their mother, grandmother and other women in their lives. The mother of the bride should comprise her own list of advice. At the end of the game, have each of the guests read off their list. The mother of the bride should check off advice that she has written herself, as well as advice with which she does or does not agree. Conclude the game by having the mother of the bride read off her own list.
