Pomona Lake, Kansas Motels
Pomona Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers built lake in Osage County, Kansas. The 4,000-acre lake has seven parks and two marinas, which together cater for a large number of recreational activities, including boating, fishing and hunting. Facilities at the two marinas include docks, boat ramps and concession areas. Camping is provided for in several campgrounds, but there is no accommodation in the way of hotels, inns or lodges. The closest of these are to be found 17 miles away in the town of Ottawa.

The Econo Lodge is located close to the junction of Interstate 35 and Highway 58, and is less than a five-minute drive from Ottawa University and about a 20-minute drive from Pomona Lake. The lodge offers 56 guest bedrooms, all of which are provided with the usual set of amenities. Guests can enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast and there is free coffee on call 24/7. The hotel also has an outdoor pool that can be used in season. There are a number of fast food outlets within walking distance of the hotel, including a McDonald's and a Wendy's, and other restaurants within a five-minute drive.

The Super 8 Ottawa can be found by the intersection of Highway 58 with Interstate 35. The motel has guest bedrooms and six suites, two of which have whirlpool tubs. Ottawa University is less than a mile from the hotel, which is just 17 miles from the recreation centers at Pomona Lake. The guest rooms at the Ottawa Super 8 each have the usual set of amenities including recliners, and the hotel also has an indoor swimming pool. Guests can start off their day with a Superstart Breakfast, and there are several restaurants within a five-minute drive. These include the Sirloin Stockade, a Country Kitchen and a Clarke Country II. There are also several fast food outlets within walking distance of the hotel.

The Comfort Inn has 60 guest rooms to offer and is located close to the meeting point of Interstate 35 and Highway 58. Most of the rooms have the usual amenities, although some of them do not have refrigerators or microwaves. Comfort Inn is within walking distance of the Ottawa University and of several fast food outlets, including Applebee's, which is next door to the hotel. Other restaurants within a five-minute drive include the Country Kitchen and Sirloin Stockade. You can enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast after a morning dip in the indoor pool or in the whirlpool tub.

Another motel within a 20-minute drive of Lake Pomona is Knights Inn in Ottawa. This motel is located alongside Highway 58 and within a mile of I-35. All of the guest rooms have the customary amenities and guests get a free continental breakfast. This is a pet-friendly hotel, although you should expect a small charge. Many of Ottawa's restaurants are within a mile of the motel, including Old 56 Restaurant, Sonic Drive In, Sirloin Stockade and Blue Star Cafe. There are hiking trails in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, and still more in the Pomona State Park on the banks of Lake Pomona.
