Children's Ministry Activities for Father's Day
Father's Day is not a religious holiday, but is one celebrated by many Christians. God commands people to honor and respect their parents. Father's Day is a good opportunity to celebrate Dad and his responsibilities as a father. Celebrations, gifts and activities stress the important part Dad plays in the family. Through creative ministry activities, you can show Dad how loved and special he is.

Father's Day Colorful Card
-
Make a colorful card that every father will treasure. Fold a piece of cardstock in half and cut a smaller piece of construction paper to glue on the front. Tear up different-colored pieces of tissue paper and glue on the front. On the inside left, print the Bible verse Proverbs 23:24. Tell the kids that Jacob's father loved him so much he gave him a coat of many colors. On the inside right, print: "Jacob's father gave him the coat of many colors to signify his love. These colors on this card signify my love for you."
Father's Day Photo Strip
-
A family photo strip is easy to craft and makes a nice keepsake for Dad. Trace around three family photos that include Dad onto craft foam, making the diameter of the foam about ½ inch wider for the frame. Glue the photos to the foam, centering each piece. Write the Bible verse Joshua 1:9 on a cut piece of cardstock. Connect the photos and Bible verse by gluing ribbon along the back, spacing the items 1 inch apart.

Father's Day Angel
-
A Father's Day angel is an activity that is appropriate for younger children. Have children paint four craft sticks white, and let them dry. Glue two craft sticks in a fan or "v" shape, and make another set in a slightly narrower fan. Place the two sets close and glue a single stick down the center, making a skirt shape. For the wings, glue three sticks together, overlapping in a fan shape. Make another set. Glue the two sets of wings to the dress from behind. Children can cut out a photo of their father's face and glue it to the top of the angel. Glue a Bible verse of choice written on a small piece of paper to the bottom. If desired, outline in glitter glue.
Father's Day Handprint
-
Dad will want to frame this gift. Print the words "Happy Father's Day to the best dad" on a piece of card stock. Have children dip both hands in craft paint and then stamp their hands on the paper, fingers pointing down. Write "Hands Down!" below the handprints. Then, write the child's name and the date.
