Decor Ideas for a Valentine Wedding Reception
When you hold your wedding on Valentine's Day, the colors and theme are pretty much predetermined by the holiday itself. After all, it is considered by many to be the most romantic day of the year. Pick a design theme that fits your personality, such as formal, romantic or playful, and choose your decoration items to reflect the love you both share on your special wedding day.

Red and White
-
Temper the bold red of passion with the innocence of white in your decorations. Arrange red heart sculptures, made of red rope lights, on the walls, while red heart lights drip from the ceiling. Floor length, red, satin linens line the tables and chairs. Chairs hold a white ribbon sash tied to the side. White ribbons run along the center of the table, like a train track, with red square blocks on top spelling. "Love" in white letters. Inside the ribbons, a low-lying container holds red and white blocks acting as anchors for the red and white latex balloons floating overhead.
Red and Hot Pink
-
Bring in the heat with this design. A red velvet rope and carpet leads to the reception entry arch swagged in hot pink tulle and a combination of red and pink flowers, such as roses, carnations, chrysanthemums or hydrangeas. Swag hot pink tulle on the walls with a red tissue heart in between the swags. Tailor the red table and chair back linens with hot pink buttons down the sides and back. A crystal rectangular vase layers red and pink crystals beneath, with a profusion of red and pink flowers above.

Pink and White
-
Softly Victorian, bring in the soft pale hues of pink with the softness of a white cream. Drape white lace along the reception door, tied back with a pink ribbon holding roses. Walls contain doilies, lace cut-outs and paper models of elaborate Victorian hearts. Layer intricate, white, patterned lace over soft pink cloths. Grab the lace at each corner and create a bustle, reminiscent of the dress at that time era. A pink and white tea pot holds a small gathering of flowers and is surrounded by pink and white candles.
Heart Theme
-
Bring in Cupid and the heart in this playful design. A large Cupid ice sculpture sits aside the reception table with two heart shaped bowls holding the names and seating arrangements of guest. Hearts, zinging arrows, hearts and photographs of the couple and guests project against one wall. Paper heart garlands surround the walls, while tin foiled hearts whirl from the ceiling. Heart patterned linen lines the tables and is weaved into open chair backs. A heart-shaped fountain sits in the middle of the table with heart-shaped candles.
