Fun Baby Shower Games for Kids
Baby showers are a fun celebration of a new or soon-to-arrive baby. The purpose of a shower is to "shower" the new mom with baby items she will need. Showers can become more than just a gathering of females. Daddy showers, mom-and-dad showers and family showers are becoming more common. Games for kids or kids and adults together will make the shower family friendly. Does this Spark an idea?

Guess How Many

Fill a jar will cotton balls or cotton swabs. Have kids try to guess how many are in the jar. Provide slips of paper for the kids to write their names and the number they think is the correct answer. Give a prize to the child who comes closest to the correct number. Offer prizes for the top three guesses, or in case more than one child guesses the same number.
Baby Block Spelling

Use letter blocks for a baby shower game. Give each kid a lunch-size paper bag that contains about five baby blocks printed with letters. The kids will try to spell a word using the letters on one side of their blocks. They may turn the blocks to a letter that is useful for their word. Allow the kids to exchange one block with someone else, if desired, to spell a word. Also, you may have a box with extra letter blocks and allow a child to exchange one block at a time to obtain the letters for a word. You may also use any pictured sides of a block as a "wild card" for vowels or for any letter, allowing the children to use only one "wild card."Give a prize to each participant. Gather up the blocks to give as a gift to the family of the new baby.

Lick the Pacifier

Give each child a candy lollipop pacifier. Have the kids unwrap the pacifiers and hold them up until they hear you say the word "Go." They will race to see who can lick the lollipop off the pacifier base first. Determine beforehand whether you will allow biting and crunching or only licking. Have younger children lick the lollipop for a set number of seconds, then have the adults judge which lollipop has become the smallest. Give a second lollipop or gummy babies as prizes to winners or to every child.
Bowling

Use 10 plastic baby bottles or sippy cups as bowling pins. Have the kids use a baby toy such as a cloth ball or small stuffed toy as a bowling ball. Let the kids play the game long enough that each child has a few turns. Give the bottles or cups and the toy to the baby's family for a baby gift.
Bathtub Pond

Place a small amount of water in a baby bathtub. Write a number or symbol on the bottom of several rubber ducks or frogs suitable for a baby to play with. The kids at the shower will choose a duck or frog and receive a prize according to the number or symbol on the bottom.
