Bubble Painting

Adding tempera paint powder to bubble fluid makes a creative project. Bubble paint is an unconventional art and craft concoction. Though not the type of craft to be taken home at the end of the day, it is something children will enjoy immensely. A simple mixture of powdered tempera paint and bubble fluid give a new slant to blowing bubbles. Let each child make a different color and give them a bubble wand, soon you have a rainbow of bubbles. Experiencing the colors and movements of the bubbles are the important lesson for children. And now a word of warning; unless you are looking to redecorate your formal living room in abstract bubble paint, the great outdoors is where this project should be taken on.
Handprint Art

Handprint art is a simple but cherished craft project for children. Plaster of Paris and water are the ingredients for this simple project. Mixing the two together until it is thick enough to make a patty is part of the enjoyment for children. Press the patty flat onto waxed paper, with the child pressing the palm side of her hand into the plaster. Use a toothpick, with supervision, to make a hole at the top of the patty for the print to be hung and to etch the child's name and date into the plaster.

Breadcrumb Bracelet

White glue and breadcrumbs combine to make beads. A breadcrumb bracelet is the result of mixing breadcrumbs with white glue and making beads. Acrylic paint gives the finished beads color, and a toothpick makes a hole for ribbon to slide through, completing the bracelet. This craft project is tactile, involving the hands to mix the breadcrumb mixture and then rolling it into beads.
Pine Cone Bird Feeder

Children can make good use of a pine cone as a bird feeder. A pine cone, peanut butter and a lot of birdseed create an exciting craft project for children. Peanut butter is spread onto the edge of the pine scales, after which the pine cone is rolled in birdseed. Use a ribbon to tie it to a tree branch, or any place the child wants to watch birds come to eat the peanut butter and birdseed. Inexpensive and educational, this project gives adults the opportunity to teach kids about types of birds and their habits.
