Invitations

Invitations play an essential role in any party. They let the guests know they are personally invited to the party, along with informing them of the time and place of the event. The invitations should reflect the theme of the party. Purchase "Jurassic Park" invitations at any party supply store. For a more personal touch, create your own invitations. Using the "Jurassic Park" theme colors, use black paper and print a red dinosaur head on the front of the invitation. Use white to print the information on the inside.You can also cut out dinosaur feet shapes and write the party information on front.

Decorating the house in a jungle theme will give the party a "Jurassic Park" feel. Buy fake palm trees, or make them out of sticks and grass straw. Print out pictures of birds, and tape them to the wall. Buy or make a streamer to place at the entrance of the party area. Using construction paper, write out "Jurassic Park," one letter on each piece of paper in a block-style font, and color the letters in. Connect the pieces of paper together with invisible tape, and hang the streamer. Use blow-up dinosaurs, or print out pictures of dinosaurs and tape them to the wall. Decorate the table with "Jurassic Park"-themed table cloth, cups, plates and napkins.

Games play an important role in every party. Keeping the guests involved and busy will make for a more enjoyable experience. With older kids or even adults, a movie quiz is ideal. Make up questions about the movie that are not too difficult to answer, and have a contest. For younger children, hide dinosaur bones and treasures around the house or yard and have a treasure hunt. Bury some dinosaur bones under the ground, and have an excavation. Children also enjoy coloring and painting; print out some dinosaur coloring pages, or simply have them draw their own dinosaurs. Alternatively, they can mold their own dinosaurs out of clay.

Gift bags are something to which every guest looks forward when attending a party. Using "Jurassic Park"-themed party bags, fill the bags with fun dinosaur toys and candies. Dub a bag of pretzels "Dinosaur Bones," and label green gummy candies "Dinosaur Boogers." Add mini dinosaurs, key chains, magnets or erasers to the bags. Include binoculars or a dinosaur craft kit for a memorable party bag.
