Are Anti-Spywares or Antiviruses better?
Antivirus and anti-spyware programs free your computer of malicious software that could damage it. Determining which program is better depends on the issues that your computer is having, because the programs don't target the same types of software.

Uses
-
Antivirus and anti-spyware programs are used for different things. If you have a virus, which is a program that maliciously downloads itself onto your computer, then an antivirus program is best. If you have spyware, which is a program that is hidden on your computer to collect data, then an anti-spyware program is optimum. The trick is knowing which malware you have, which isn't always easy. Most people prefer to run both programs to target both viruses and spyware.
Free or Paid
-
Antivirus and anti-spyware programs come in free and paid varieties. The free versions often work just as well as the paid ones but may not cover all of the viruses or spyware out there. Read reviews, because often free versions of both spyware or virus protection software come with other types of freeware or adware attached to them.

Updates
-
Neither software is better when it comes to updates. Both are usually able to be updated online, so you can get the newest versions as soon as they become available.
Fakes
-
Both antivirus and anti-spyware software are prone to fakes, or malicious programs that have almost the same name or logo design. Be sure that you download the programs only from the specified program site so you aren't accidentally downloading a fake or impostor program.
