Fun Things I Can Email Grandkids
Although the concept of grandparents surfing the Internet, downloading MP3s, creating profiles on social networks and sending out emails might seem foreign to a lot of people, more and more older individuals than ever are on the World Wide Web these days. For grandparents that are looking for some fun ideas for things to email their beloved grandchildren, a handful of easy ideas are out there.

Picture Albums
-
The Web is full of many free photo sharing websites where you can easily post your photo albums. One fun thing to email grandkids is a link to an online photo album through a website such as Flickr, Picasa, Snapfish or Photobucket. Whether you are sipping a glass of wine on vacation in the Provence region of France or acting silly on the beach in Miami, Florida, photo albums are a quick way to remind the grandchildren of you and make them smile.
Videos
-
Youtube is one of the most visited online services in the world, and understandably so. Youtube is what seems to be an endless index of hilarious clips of dogs doing tricks, cats playing the piano, teenagers playing pranks on each other and unfortunate bloopers of news anchors for regional news programs. One of the great things about Youtube is how easily videos can be uploaded to it. Make a Youtube channel of your own and upload all of your funniest videos to it, such as of the time your spouse ate a hamburger in just two bites or when you caught your dog with spaghetti sauce all around his face. Send your grandkids the link directly from Youtube, or upload it onto a social networking site such as Facebook, if you have an account.

Ecards
-
One rapid and convenient way in which to convey to your grandchildren that you are thinking about them is by sending them an Ecard. Ecards are available through many free websites (such as 123 Greetings, Blue Mountain and EGreetings) and can also be purchased. Ecards are available for all holidays of the year, from Christmas to Valentine's Day, and also are available for "thinking of you" situations. To lighten things up, go for one that comes with a joke and a silly graphic art.
Money
-
One very fun thing to email grandkids, although perhaps not so fun for your pocketbook, is an instant payment via a website such as Paypal. After all, what do grandchildren love more than money? Whether the Paypal payment is for $10 or $100, the grandchildren are sure to be impressed both by your effort and thought and also by your computer savvy web skills. If cold hard cash isn't your thing, consider sending an eGift card to an online retailer such as Amazon.com, iTunes or eBay.
