Red Bridal Bouquet Ideas

Red bridal bouquets are beautiful accents to any wedding party.

The beauty of using red flowers for your wedding bouquet is that red flowers are available year-round, so you won't face the added expense of having to import out-of-season flowers from another country or city to your florist's shop. With a variety of shades in the red family, your wedding bouquet will match any theme or color palette you choose for your ceremony and reception. Burgundies, bright and deep reds all make for beautiful red bouquets when used alone and when mixed together to create a rainbow of red.

  1. Roses

    • An elegant red bridal bouquet is portrayed at its best by black magic roses. These roses are such a deep red hue that they make any bouquet look elegant, romantic and classic. To add your own special touch to your black magic bouquet, have your florist remove everything but the stems and the bloom from your bouquet, cut the stems short and tie a ribbon around the stems to hold them together. Place jewels in the middle of a few of the roses for a little shimmer.

    Shades of Red

    • When determining the type of bridal bouquet you will carry down the aisle, pick your favorite flowers. It doesn't matter if they aren't the same as the rest of the flowers used to decorate tables and other aspects of your wedding; it's your bouquet. Mix your favorite flower together with other flowers, naturally red or dyed red by your florist. Make sure each of the flowers is a different shade of red or dark pink to create a red bouquet with a twist.

    Casual Bouquets

    • Outdoor weddings and casually elegant affairs call for bridal bouquets that are a little less formal than roses and a little more fun. A red bouquet of amaryllis and ranunculus forms a bouquet that is both elegant and casual. Keep this bouquet small and simple, though opting to make it large is entirely your choice and not a bad one at that. This bouquet works for any season, though, especially for late fall and winter weddings.

    Fall Reds

    • Fall weddings call for fall colors. A red bouquet made mostly of flowers in the red family, without actually being bright red makes a bouquet that brings the indoors out. Red roses and orchids mixed together are a beautiful combination, especially if neither are bright red. Opt for shades of burgundy and reddish-orange to keep the color palette seasonally appropriate.
