Telling your husband that you're pregnant can be one of the most exciting times in a woman's life. A woman thinks about how she will tell him and devises a plan. Many women call him to tell him or they simply wait until he gets home and then spring the news on him. Other women find creative and exciting ways to tell him the thrilling news.

Traditional Way

A very common and traditional way of telling your husband you are pregnant is over dinner. Prepare a special meal, light some candles and turn on soft music. During the meal, simply tell him the news.
Give a Gift

A creative way of telling your husband of the family's pending addition is to purchase a gift for him. He will wonder why you purchased a gift, but after opening it, he will completely understand. Inside the gift put in baby booties, a baby bottle or a baby rattle. When he opens and sees the gift, he will probably look at you and smile. This is a nice way of breaking the news without speaking.

Play Hangman

Hangman is a common game played mainly by children, but works as a humorous way to tell the news of an eminent arrival. If your husband is not a game player, this idea is probably not the best. Hangman works by writing blanks used to spell a word or phrase. As your husband guesses letters, he completes the drawing and fills in the correct letters or phrases in the spaces provided. The result of the game spells the news. Write something like "baby on board."
Take Him Out

Tell your husband you have a surprise planned that evening after work. Insist that you drive and he rides as a blindfolded passenger. Drive to a baby store, a toy store or a children's furniture store. Upon arrival, help him out of the car and then take his blindfold off. He may be slightly confused at first, but ideally, catches on quickly. Tell him the store would be a great place to shop for the items needed for the new arrival.
