AARP, formerly the American Association of Retired Persons, has a driver safety program specially designed for motorists over 50. The course is available in classrooms or online. The classroom version has two four-hour sessions over two days and helps drivers refine their existing skills and develop defensive driving techniques. The course consists of six units that each cover a different driver-related issue. At the end of each unit is a short quiz to check your understanding of the course contents. After completing the units you take an online exam which will only cover questions you can answer from the course material. If you don't pass the first time you can take it a second time for no extra charge.
