Alaska has several defensive driving courses designed for senior drivers.

Many changes have come in cars, road rules and driving conditions since many senior drivers first got their driver's license. Defensive driving courses developed for seniors cover the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to stay safe while driving. Seniors need to learn adjustments to cope with age-related changes in their reaction time, vision and hearing. Successful completion of a defensive driving class will also qualify you for discounts on auto insurance.
