Get Well Gifts for Teenagers
Hospitalized or recovering teenagers enjoy gifts that are memorable, practical or a combination of both. When gift giving, however, remember that hospitals and recovery centers often have rules. Nuts, latex and certain fruits, as well as scented items, are sometimes prohibited in hospitals because of patient and staff allergies. If the teenager is recovering at home, ask the parent if their child has any allergies or if any items are prohibited in the home.

Crossword Book
-
A crossword book, for teens, is one gift idea. A crossword book can keep their mind active while they recover; and has the added benefit of enhancing reading and spelling skills in young minds. Tie a crossword book with a ribbon and a candy treat, as well as a card, and you will be giving a treat for many hours of enjoyment.
Journal and Pen
-
Teens can journal their feelings about their illness with a decorative journal and pen. Find a journal that represents the teen by purchasing an item in a favorite color or a journal with a favorite animal on the cover. For an extra touch, the pen can be engraved. Be sure to add your "get well soon" message to the inside front page of the journal.

Video or Musical Entertainment
-
Keeping entertained (and keeping thoughts off their recovery) is important for a teenager on the mend. Occupy their mind with a gift of music or a movie by giving a DVD or CD. You can even bundle a DVD, CD and some ear phones together, in a gift basket, and write a note wishing them well on the attached card.
Photo Collage
-
A photo album, filled with pictures of family and friends, is another gift idea for teens recovering from illness or injury. You can continue the photo theme and add a posterboard, covered in pictures, as another part of the gift. The teen can have one item for their hospital room, or room at home as they recover, for showing off to family and friends. The photo album, filled with images, can be an item for quiet distraction during non-visiting hours.
