The Best Wedding Registry Perks
These days, a bride and groom can register just about anywhere. Your registry doesn't need to be full of requests for china you will never use. Instead, you can ask for gifts you will enjoy. For example, if you enjoy camping, fishing and other recreational activities, register at an outdoor supply store. Many stores offer certain perks if you sign up for a wedding registry with them. Ask an associate at the store about any perks or benefits that may not be available online.

Bed Bath & Beyond
-
Bed Bath & Beyond offers several wedding-registry perks. If you register for $300 worth of Henckels Twin cutlery, you can get a paring knife for free. Registering for $500 of All-Clad gets you a three-piece measuring cup set, and $500 in Anolon or Calphalon gets you a 5-inch Santoku knife. You can also receive bonus gifts based on how much your guests buy you.
Macy's
-
If you sign up for a credit card at Macy's, you can link it to your registry. This gives you 5 percent back on any gifts guests buy you and 10 percent back on anything you buy. Once the wedding date has passed, Macy's sends you a gift card for the balance.

Dillard's
-
While it doesn't offer initial perks, Dillard's offers 20 percent off any remaining items on your registry once the wedding is over. This perk lasts for 60 days following the wedding and can be a cheaper way to pick up items you really wanted but didn't receive.
Target
-
Target will send you a card for a 10 percent discount on any items still on your registry. Remember that you can only use the card once, so you will need to make all your purchases at one time.
Simon Pearce
-
Simon Pearce sells gift items including hand-blown glass and handmade pottery. If you register with Simon Pearce, you are given a gift (this varies), a free meal for two at a Simon Pearce restaurant, and a free one-night stay at a bed-and-breakfast selected by Simon Pearce.
Completion Deals
-
Many larger department stores offer completion deals. This means that once the date of your wedding has passed, you can get anywhere from 10 to 20 percent off any items still left on your registry. Be sure to ask the store about the completion deal and note the policies that go with it, such as how many times you can use it, expiration dates, and any other dates.
Tips
-
With these completion deals, you may want to sign up for extra items on your registry. Even if a guest doesn't purchase it for you, you can put money aside for the item and, since you will receive a discount, purchase it after the wedding at a lower cost.
