Ideas for Christian Father's Day Crafts
Children young and old honor their fathers, sometimes with gifts, on Father's Day. Creating Christian-inspired Father's Day crafts is a thoughtful way to show your dad how much he means to you. The fact that you took the time to make an item might mean more to him than any store-bought present.

Painted Cap
-
Decorate a baseball cap or other type of hat if your father enjoys sports or other outdoor activities. Purchase a plain white or other light-color fabric hat. Use a sharp pencil to draw a design on the cap. Add a cross or other Christian symbol and his name, or simply write "World's Best Dad," on the fabric. Use colored permanent markers to fill in the design. Outline the words or design with a black permanent marker to make them show up better.
Another idea is to use foam stamps and fabric paint to stamp Christian symbols and other artwork on the cap. Allow the cap to dry completely before giving it as a gift.
Barbecue Apron
-
If your dad enjoys barbecuing for family and guests, a personalized barbecue apron is a thoughtful idea. Purchase a plain white apron from a discount store, cooking store or craft and hobby store. Decorate the apron with stencils or stamps in Christian symbols and fabric paint. You can use paintbrushes to create Christian-theme artwork if you are artistic.
If two or more children work on the apron, you can create separate sections with masking tape and let each child decorate a square. Even the youngest child can make a handprint for the apron. Allow the artwork to dry completely before presenting it to your father.

Coffee Mug
-
A painted coffee mug is a useful Father's Day gift. If he doesn't drink coffee, he can use it for hot chocolate or soup. Purchase a mug that's white or another solid light color, and wash it with warm soapy water. Rinse it well and allow it to dry. Use a craft-paint brush and acrylic enamel paints to write your dad's favorite Scripture verse on the coffee mug. If the passage is too long, you can just write the reference on the mug, along with "Dad" or other types of decorations.
Allow the finished mug to dry for one hour. Place it inside a cool oven and turn the oven on to 350 degrees. Let the coffee mug bake for 30 minutes. Turn the oven off and leave the mug inside until it is cool. After each use, wash the mug by hand or on the top rack of the dishwasher.
T-Shirt
-
Create a personalized T-shirt just for your dad. Purchase a white T-shirt in his size. Lay it out flat on a work table. Insert a sheet of aluminum foil inside the shirt so the colors will not bleed to the other side. Use foam stamps and fabric paint to make Christian symbols on the T-shirt.
One idea is to cover the shirt with funky-looking fish and write the Scripture from Matthew 4:19--"And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Another idea is to write his name near the front pocket and paint a simple cross shape above it with a detail paint brush. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly before wrapping the shirt in a gift box.
