Corporate Birthday Gift Ideas
Many thoughtful bosses elect to recognize their employees' birthdays through the presentation of birthday presents. While these gifts are generally not as personal as gifts that you may give outside of the workplace, they can still be reflective of the recipient's like and uniquely appropriate to each worker who receives one. As you plan out your corporate birthday gifts, consider your options carefully and ensure that you select the present or presents most useful in showing your appreciation to your staff on their birthdays.
-
Entertainment Gift Certificate
-
Encourage your employees to take some time for themselves on their birthdays by giving them entertainment gift certificates. Purchase certificates to local restaurants, movies or theme parks, and present them to your workers whenever they celebrate birthdays. Select certificates that are large enough to cover two people partaking in the leisure activity to allow your employee recipient to take along a loved one free of charge.
Engraved Clock
-
Select a gift that is reflective of the passing of time to commemorate your employees' birthdays. Purchase engraved travel clocks. Select just one message, speaking to the celebration of a birthday, to place on the clock, or instead have each one personally engraved, customizing it to each recipient and including his specific birthday and name. If your workers spend much time on the road, select clocks of the travel variety so that they can take them with them as they roam.
-
Gift Basket
-
Give your birthday worker not just one gift, but instead a whole basket full, by buying him a gift basket in recognition of his birthday. Select a standard basket filled with fruit or other tasty treats, or opt instead for something that is more reflective of your workers' interests. For example, if buying a gift for a movie-loving worker, select one filled with DVDs, microwave popcorn and movie theater candy.
Publication Subscription
-
Give your worker a present that will last throughout the year by buying him a subscription to a publication. Select a publication that is relevant to your industry, increasing the likelihood that the worker will find the magazine useful. Give the worker a copy of the magazine in question, along with a card explaining that he will continue to receive it throughout the year, as a birthday treat.
Paid Vacation Certificate
-
Allow your employee an extra day off whenever she wishes to take it as a birthday present. Present the recipient with a certificate that entitles her to an extra day of paid vacation. Tell her to either return the certificate to you when she wants to take her day, or complete the standard vacation request process as you will alert human resources to this extra day gift.
