Easter baskets are exciting for children.

Easter baskets are meant to give your toddler gifts on a day of remembering the resurrection of Christ. But many times, it is difficult to come up with ideas of what to put in your toddler's Easter basket. Because Easter marks the beginning of spring, it is fun to give her gifts that can be used or worn outside on a beautiful day. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Sidewalk Chalk

    • Sidewalk chalk can keep your toddler entertained for quite a while. When you give your toddler a gift that helps to grow her creativity and imagination, you are helping her learn skills necessary in life. You can let her draw on the sidewalk, rocks or steps. Clean up is so easy, you can just wait for the rain or wash the chalk off with water.

    Balls

    • Balls are great for toddlers. Hand-eye coordination is a very important skill that toddlers are still learning, usually up until they start school. They will love to throw the ball against a wall, play catch with adults and other children or throw the ball to their pet. It is a good idea to buy a soft or textured ball that will give your toddler something to hold on to. If the ball is too slippery or too large, he could become frustrated and give up.

    Bubbles

    • Bubbles make everyone happy. Your toddler can watch the bubbles float away in the air, chase them, pop them or watch them land softly on the grass and flowers. It might be best for an adult to hold the bubbles and bubble wand while your child blows the bubbles. Try to keep the bubbles away from her face.

    Small Dolls

    • Placing a small doll or two in your toddler's Easter basket is a good idea. When she plays with the dolls, she will be using her imagination and practicing being gentle with babies or children smaller than her. Finding a doll similar to one she already loves or one that is part of a collection or line of dolls that she enjoys. You could also choose to add a couple sets of clothes for her new doll or a current doll.

    Cars

    • Cars will make a boy's imagination go wild. Whether they are racing, rescuing or doing stunts, small cars always seem to be a hit with little boys. Boys seem to know from a very young age what sounds cars make and how they sound when they crash. Small metal cars will last longer with your toddler because of the rough play.

    Books

    • It is important to read to your toddler, and a new story is always exciting to read. Because of the Easter holiday, you might choose a religious book that teaches your toddler the meaning of Easter. Whatever type of children's book you choose, your toddler will enjoy having it read to him.
