Types of Cosplay School Uniforms
The term "cosplay" is an abbreviation of "costume play." Cosplayers are people who like to dress up as characters from anime and manga series. A recurring theme in anime is high school students with secret identities. Because of this, school uniforms are a popular costume choice in the cosplay community. The Sailor Moon Uniform

An example of a sailor style shirt. Sailor Moon is an anime series about a young girl who discovers she is a cosmic warrior. The Sailor Moon style school uniform is made up of a sailor-style top in white and blue with an oversized red bow and a matching skirt. The skirt is extra short and pleated with an oversized red bow in the back. Long, blonde wigs can be styled to more closely resemble Sailor Moon's "meatball"-style hairdo. This look also requires red knee-high boots.

A Rukia Kuchiki school uniform features a long-sleeved gray jacket with red piping and a matching short pleated miniskirt. The rest of the uniform includes a white dress shirt and a red bow tie that matches the piping on the jacket. Black knee-high socks and brown loafers finish the outfit. A cropped black wig would enhance the costume.

This style of blazer closely resembles the jackets of Cosplay school uniforms. Himeji Mizuki is a character from the manga book series, "Baka to Test to Shokanju." A Himeji Mizuki uniform is made up of a black school blazer with gold piping, a white dress shirt, a red pleated miniskirt and a red tie. The costume is topped off with a pink wig and a bunny hair clip. White ankle socks and brown shoes complete the look. Loafers or mary-janes would work well for this outfit.

These shoes would be suitable for a Ran Mouri costume. Ran Mouri is an anime character from a series called Detective Conan. Her school uniform is modern and untraditional. The entire uniform is cobalt blue. The blazer and pleated skirt are completely blue with no piping or other details. A white dress shirt is worn under the jacket with a men's style green tie. White ankle socks and white and green tennis shoes complete the uniform. A long, black wig would enhance the costume.
