Layered hair is versatile.

Teens girls are notoriously fickle with hairstyles. They are often influenced by celebrities seen in the media and magazines. A common hairstyle found amongst teens is long, layered hairstyles. Whether the hair is straight or curly, layers give the hair volume and styling versatility. Styling tools and accessories can also change the look of hair on a whim. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Straight

    • Long, layered straight hair is always in style. Teens are drawn to this look, as it's commonly found in multiple teen celebrities. If the hair is not naturally straight, use a flat-iron to straighten it. One style is the hair blunt cut on bottom, with long layers throughout. It looks flattering with zig-zag parting for visual interest. Choppy layers look edgy in a straight layered hairstyle. The choppy layers start a bit higher than regular layers and give the hair a modern look.

    Wavy

    • Wavy hair looks lovely in teen long-layered hairstyles. Wavy hair looks sassy and can also look romantic. If the hair is not naturally wavy, use hot rollers or a large-barrel curling iron to create them. The layers should begin at about mid-neck length and continue throughout the hair. Wear the hair half up and half down for a cool look. Long, layered wavy hair looks great when swept up into a ponytail--not to mention that it's a time-saving hairstyle for teens.

    Curly

    • Wild curly hair looks best when long, as it loosens the curl. Depending on your curl pattern, you may need to use a curling iron to loosen and define the curls--either a tight or loose curling iron. A quick hairstyle for teens is to simply dry the hair, add products, and slip on a wide headband and wear the hair down. Another stylish look for teens with curly, long layered hair is a side ponytail. Just pull the hair over to one side and put it in a low ponytail.

    Bangs

    • Bangs are the perfect addition to a long, layered hairstyle. Generally, teens stay away from the traditional bangs that hang down straight. It is an option, though. Layered side-swept bangs that can be worn to either side, or manipulated easily to style, are perfect.
