What Classes Are Needed to Get a Business Degree?
Business degrees normally require math, communication and statistics classes in addition to business classes. Majors in business include a general business degree, marketing, operations management, finance, accounting and strategic management. Business degrees are offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Degree options include associate's, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.

Associate's Degree in Business

Associate's degrees in business are offered at most community colleges in the U.S. and at many online colleges. A general business course is usually the first course to be taken. Courses in economics, information systems, accounting and managerial communication are also required. Courses outside the field of business are also required, including psychology and algebra.
Bachelor's Degree in Business

Earning a bachelor's degree in business may require a specific field of business study, such as entrepreneurship, finance or strategic management. In these cases, specialized courses are offered to deepen students' knowledge. A bachelor's degree in business administration generally includes at least two economics courses, including macroeconomics and microeconomics, business calculus, managerial and financial accounting, finance, business statistics, marketing and management. Student can also take electives such as tax law, real estate, entrepreneurship and international finance.

Economics is also a business path, sometimes within the college of arts and sciences at many universities. Getting a doctoral degree requires both coursework and research. Research is supervised by a professor at the university who is recognized as an expert in the student's field of research. Approval of the student's dissertation and a series of exams are the final steps to receiving a doctoral degree in business.
