The Best Birthday Gifts for My Wife
You know your wife better than anyone else. So, think about her and what she would like to have for a birthday gift and go for it. If your heart is in the right place, she will see that and appreciate what you give her, even if it didn't cost a lot or isn't quite what she expected. Don't forget a thoughtful card to go with her gift and include a special note on the inside.

A Day Off
-
Give your wife the day off from her regular duties. Let her sleep in and, when she does get up, go make the bed while she's still in the bathroom. Cook and clean up all the meals yourself. If you have children, plan what you're going to do with them for the day (such as go to the park and visit Grandma) so she has time to herself. If it's in your budget, send to her to the spa for part of the day. If not, lunch with a girlfriend my be just as special, especially if she hasn't seen her for a long time.
Honey Do
-
Do some of the items on your wife's "Honey Do" list. If you been putting these things off for years like many husbands do, just dedicating a weekend to fixing up the house and completing half done projects may be the best birthday present you can give your wife. This idea is also good for families on a tight budget who can't afford a frivolous or expensive gift.

Things to Consider
-
The key to purchasing a good birthday gift for your wife is to think about what she wants. If she's not into jewellery, then buying her a new piece may not be the best gift. If the lingerie is more for you, then it's not a good gift for your wife and may be more appropriate anyway for Valentine's Day or your anniversary. If she's on a diet, don't give her candy or take her to her favorite restaurant where she can't order her favorite foods. Also, don't buy her an appliance or vacuum unless she really wants it and you otherwise wouldn't get it.
What to Buy
-
Think about something that your wife would like to have, but would never buy herself. For example, if you live in an area with cold winters, schedule to have an automatic car starter installed. Other gift ideas include a GPS, new cell phone with more features and those name-brand pair of boots she's always wanted but thought were too expensive. If she collects things, such as horse figurines, keep your eye out starting a month or more before her birthday and find an unusual piece somewhere she wouldn't normally look, such as Ebay or Craigslist.
