You can find costumes on online auction websites, Internet stores or Halloween stores. You could also dress up as Elliot from E.T. Put on a red hooded sweatshirt and jeans to recreate Elliot's look from the last scene of the movie when E.T. is riding on the front of his bike. Place an E.T. doll in a milk crate. Wrap the doll in a shower curtain so only his head is showing. You can even place old bike handlebars on the milk crate to give the illusion of a bike.

The Nightmare on Elm Street movies made people scared to sleep in the 1980s. The famous villain was equipped with a glove with knives for fingers, a striped sweater and fedora hat. This costume is more appropriate for older children. Recreate Freddy Krueger's glove with rubber toy knives without any sharp edges.
