Tailor second-wedding shower gifts to the couple.

Typically, wedding-shower gifts come from a bride and groom's registry and are gifts for the couple's new home together. However, sometimes when it is a couple's second marriage they decide not to have a registry or don't need household items since they already have established homes. Many times, couples getting married for the second time will have a joint shower instead of a shower just for the bride, especially if the couple are older.

  1. Romantic Date Gift Baskets

    • Give the couple a gift basket with things they'll need for a romantic date night. You can give them gift certificates to a nice restaurant or theater tickets. You can also give the couple a basket full of things for a romantic night in. Fill the basket with wine and wine glasses, chocolates, candles, a romantic CD, even rose petals, to make sure the couple have all they need for a romantic night together.

    Things for the House

    • Just because the couple may not be starting out in their first house, it doesn't mean they wont appreciate gifts for the home. Give a basket or box filled with everyday home items. Oven mitts, dish towels, bathroom hand towels and place mats are all gifts that a coupe may have but can always use more of. New picture frames for the home are always a nice gift for a couple that may already have everything.

    Cookbooks

    • A cookbook is another gift that many couples will appreciate. Try to get the couple a book that fits their own dining interests. If they like sushi, get them a sushi cookbook to use. If they are always outside grilling, get them a grill book. If neither of them is a good cook, there are many easy cookbooks for people who know nothing about cooking. If the couple really don't like to cook and prefer to go out, get them a local restaurant guide for the city they live in.

    Lingerie

    • Lingerie is a common wedding-shower gift that may be for the bride to wear but is sure to be a treat for the groom as well. If your bride is more modest, a nice set of pajamas for the wedding night or a comfortable nightie is another great option. You can also get a matching set of pajamas or robes for the bride and groom and even get their initials embroidered on them. If you decide to go with lingerie, it's always a good idea to go more on the modest side than the adventurous side. Also, try to get the bride's size before you purchase.
