Haunted Attractions Near Greencastle, Indiana
Greencastle, Indiana is a small town located in Putnam County in the west central part of the state. Although there are no recorded tales or photographs of ghosts or other hauntings within Greencastle, there are plenty of places where amateur ghost hunters and thrill seekers may see a specter or two in nearby towns.

Edna Collins Bridge

The Edna Collins Bridge is a covered bridge near Roachdale, Indiana (12 miles from Greencastle) that is reported to be haunted by an angry ghost. If you stop in the middle of the bridge and honk your car horn three times, the wispy figure of a young girl will appear and try to attack your car.
According to the story, the girl's mother left her at the bridge while the mother went to town to shop. When the mother returned to the bridge, the girl was gone. The only clue the police found to explain the child's disappearance was the stockings the girl had been wearing that day, which were covered with blood.
Ladoga Train Tracks

Ladoga is 15 miles away from Greencastle. According to local legend, if you stand on the railroad tracks by Pizza King and the post office on Tuesday at 1:59 a.m. and look in the right direction you can see a little girl in a white dress skipping down the tracks.
If it's a quiet night, you can hear her singing a hymn. She is purported to have died in 1843 after her sister's wedding, in which she was the flower girl. The child ran away from the reception after being chased by a stray dog and wandered onto the railroad tracks at exactly the wrong time.

Roachdale Park

There's an old house facing the park in Roachdale. If you pay attention to a certain tree behind the house on stormy nights, you can see a family of former residents of the house who drowned many years ago.
Stilesville, Indiana

Stilesville is 18 miles from Greencastle. On very dark nights, a shadowy woman appears in the middle of the road just outside of town. One sighting reports the woman stared at the approaching car as if she didn't know what it was.
When the driver slowed and neared the figure, her eyes began to glow like cat eyes and she quickly disappeared. The driver noted that the street lights were dimmer than usual and wondered if the apparition drew energy from the lights in order to appear.
