Group Games & Activities for Kids
Group games and activities give kids an opportunity to learn the value of teamwork while exploring their competitive side. Divide the kids into equal sides before playing games or activities. Split larger groups of kids into multiple smaller teams to provide them with more playing time to ensure participation. Explain the rules of the games and activities thoroughly and make sure the kids understand them before starting.

Spring
-
Use the springtime to introduce outdoor activities that do not require equipment or supplies. Take a nature hike and assign each group of kids to locate different types of birds, bugs or plants. Set up a group game of hide and seek, "duck duck gray duck," tag or "red light green light." If the weather is rainy, split the kids into small groups to play board games or card games inside.
Summer
-
Water games can be a fun activity for groups of kids to enjoy while swimming in the lake or local swimming pool during the summer months. Use an inflatable ball to setup a game of water volleyball or a game of keep away. Outside of the water, organize the group of kids into a circle for a game of water balloon hot potato or into teams for a water balloon toss.

Fall
-
Fall often brings with it a plethora of sporting activities in which groups are essential to playing the game. Organize the kids into teams to play a game of touch or flag football. Grab a soccer ball and set up several cones for a game of full field soccer for a large group of kids or smaller fields for fewer kids. Use a gym, baseball field or open space at the park to set up a game of kickball.
Winter
-
Cold, snowy winter weather does not mean kids have to stay indoors all season. Whether sledding down a hill or being pulled by a sled, a sledding game can include group competitions similar to a relay race. A snowman building game can include variations such as which group can build a snowman the fastest or to a designated height first. Add points for the most creative or silly snowman face.
