The Clarkesville campus is about 45 minutes from Commerce.

Dekalb Technical College

Dekalb Technical College's Pipe Welder program requires 15 hours of coursework, including a gas tungsten arc welding class, a fabrication practices class and a course devoted to pipe welding. Upon completion of the program, the graduate receives a welding and joining technology certificate of credit from the college. Program costs in 2011 start at approximately $900. The drive from Commerce to the college's Clarkston campus is a little more than an hour in good traffic.
