Although a degree in pharmacy can lead to a lucrative career, it can also be financially difficult to pay for college. Many scholarships are available to help pharmacy majors defray the cost of higher education and attain their degree. Sources for pharmacy major scholarships include professional organizations and international companies.

AACP Walmart Scholars Program

The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy offers scholarship support to pharmacy majors through the AACP Walmart Scholars Program. This scholarship is awarded in the amount of $1,000. This scholarship helps students majoring in pharmacy to attend an AACP seminar. Undergraduate students may not apply; only graduate students in pharmacy are eligible. This scholarship may be used to pay for seminar registration, airfare, lodging, food and other related expenses. A recipient may only receive this award once. The annual deadline for application is Feb. 14.
AFPE Pre-Doctoral Fellowship Program

The American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education offers scholarship money to pharmacy graduate students through the AFPE Pre-Doctoral Fellowship Program. This scholarship provides funding of up to $11,000 per year, and may be renewable for some recipients. To be eligible, a student must have completed at least three semesters of graduate study toward a Ph.D. and must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States. The annual deadline for application is March 1.

Costco Pharmacy Scholars Program

The Hispanic College Fund and Costco have partnered to offer scholarship support to pharmacy majors of Hispanic/Latino origin through the Costco Pharmacy Scholars Program. This scholarships is awarded in amounts ranging from $500 to $9,500. To be eligible, an applicant must be an undergraduate student of sophomore standing or above, must be able to demonstrate financial aid, must be a U.S. citizen of Hispanic/Latino origin and must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. The annual deadline for application is Feb. 16.
NCPA Willard B. Simmons Memorial Scholarship

The NCPA Foundation offers scholarship support to pharmacy majors interested in pharmacy management through the NCPA Willard B. Simmons Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually in the amount of $2,000, and is awarded on the basis of academic achievement, leadership qualities and a demonstrated interest in pharmacy management. This scholarship is nonrenewable and may only be received once. The annual deadline for application is March 15.
