Father's Day Brunch Ideas
With June comes blue skies, warm weather and the chance to celebrate the special fathers in your life. You may want to plan a Father's Day brunch for your husband, partner, father, grandfather, brother or uncles. You can choose to make it an intimate affair with just your husband and kids, or invite the whole family for a large event. Make his favorite foods, allow time for gift giving and give him the day off to celebrate Father's Day.

Planning the Brunch
-
Give yourself sufficient time before Father's Day to plan the perfect brunch. The first thing to decide is how many people to invite. You can either have a brunch with just your husband and kids celebrating, or a family Father's Day brunch to which you invite your father, brothers and other fathers in the family. If you are planning on a family brunch for Father's Day, give your mom and sisters-in-law enough notice so they can plan their own festivities accordingly.
Food Ideas
-
The food served at a Father's Day brunch will depend greatly on what his favorite breakfast and lunch foods are. You may include an omelette bar, where the guests choose which ingredients to put in their omelette, such as cheese, meat and veggies. You may have trays of fruits and vegetables, deli sandwiches, a breakfast quiche, muffins and rolls or a breakfast casserole. For the fathers watching what they eat, be sure to offer healthier alternatives like low-fat cheese, yogurt and fresh fruit.

Drink Ideas
-
For drinks at the brunch, offer a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks fit for the whole family. Alcoholic drinks might include mimosas (a mix of orange juice and champagne), or Bloody Marys made with tomato juice, vodka and spices like horseradish or Tabasco. Have a wide selection of other drink options like a variety of juices, bottled water, milk, coffee, tea and soda. You might also consider a smoothie bar with several fruits from which guests may choose.
Gift Giving
-
The Father's Day brunch is also a good time to give him your gifts. Assign a time shortly after the meal is finished for gift giving and allow him to open his gifts at his own pace. Let the kids go first, as they are often excited to see their dad's reaction and expression when he sees what got or made for him. Don't forget to have the camera ready to capture these moments.
Quality and Leisure Time
-
When the brunch is coming to a close, give him the chance to enjoy quality time with his kids or family, and plenty of leisure time. This is his day, so he shouldn't be lifting a finger to prepare meals, dish out dessert or clean up. Let him sit back and relax and enjoy his Father's Day with a sports game, quality time with the kids or a nice, long nap.
