Crafts for a School Bus Driver
A school bus driver is an important part of a child's life. Safely transporting children back and forth to school each day, the bus driver can sometimes get to know your child as well as their teachers do. Children may want to honor their bus driver by making gifts for them for holidays or as a thank you. Create sweet crafts with your kids that their bus driver will love.
-
School Bus Picture Frame
-
Cut two identical school bus shapes from a cardboard box. One bus shape will frame the picture while the other will be the backing. Cut a square from the frame bus large enough to add a photo of your child. Use a glue stick to attach the picture to the backing. Glue the frame to the backing, making sure the two buses line up exactly. Decorate the bus frame using yellow paint and a black marker. Write a personal message to the bus driver on the frame backing. Attach colorful ribbon to the backing to hang the picture.
Keychain
-
Create a keychain for the bus driver to hang the bus keys on. Ask your child for suggestions regarding the likes and hobbies of his school bus driver. Find a flexible chain and small charms that relate to your bus driver's interests at a craft store. Use a small drill to make holes in the charms and then thread them on to the chain.

Egg Carton Bus
-
Even the youngest bus riders can create this craft for their favorite bus driver. Paint the top of a cardboard or foam egg carton bright yellow. Allow the carton to dry before using a black marker to decorate the outside of the bus. Use magazine cutouts of people, and place them in the window holes of your "bus." For a more challenging activity, have your child create and cut out their own people instead of using magazine images.
Personalized Clipboards
-
Bus drivers often have paperwork that must stay with them on the bus. Create a personalized clipboard to keep this paperwork neat and organized. Purchase a plain wooden clipboard. Visit a craft store for pretty scrapbooking paper and accessories. Use a decoupage glue to attach the paper and accessories to the clipboard. You can use stenciled letters to display the bus driver's name on the clipboard. Be creative by adding ribbon, several layers of scrapbooking paper or buttons to your clipboard design. Spray the entire creation with clear acrylic sealer, and allow it to dry overnight before presenting it to your school bus driver.
