Reliving Memories
-
Father's treasure their time together with family, especially their children. Often dads wonder how their children grew up so fast. He may enjoy seeing some of those memories again. Take one or more favorite photos from family events -- or just you and dad -- and have them framed. Get enlargements, if necessary. Frames with spaces for multiple photos can be used to include themed year events, such as the last few birthdays. Another idea is to compile home videos into a short movie showing the best clips and including music.
Making Memories
-
Give dad some of your time and make a new memory. Share an experience, such as a sports game, music event or picnic. Make sure he knows that you love spending time with him. Bring your camera to document your special gift, and make sure he gets copies of the photos. It can be as simple as going to his favorite restaurant. You can also plan an entire day of dad-centered activities, including hiking, skating or even shopping.

Through His Stomach
-
Give dad a gourmet meal that you cooked yourself, showing him how much you care. Using your time and cooking skills to express your feelings will be a meaningful, as well as delicious, gift. Make sure to include some of his favorites, but don't be afraid to experiment with something fancy. If he's a seafood fan, cook him up some fresh fish. Or get a sirloin steak, and serve it with garlic mashed potatoes. Don't forget to whip up a dessert to end the meal with.
Words
-
Not everyone lives near their dad, but that doesn't mean they can't send him a meaningful present. Although there are many sentimental cards ready to be bought, no one can express your feelings like you can. Write or type up a special letter to your father, telling him just why he is so important to you. Include memories and events that have a special meaning, as well as specific examples of things he does that are meaningful to you.
