Child-friendly venues in the cities in southeastern Massachusetts offer a variety of party packages to suit the budget and age group and size of most birthday party events. Planners can choose between a shared venue, where the general public have access to the facility during the event, or a private party where party guests can enjoy the venue before or after regular operating hours.

Animal Experience

Have a birthday party at home, starring visiting animals from a party entertainment provider. The Animal World Experience company, based in Stoughton, offers interactive party packages for groups of up to 30 party guests. Party planners can choose from a variety of animal themes, such as Radical Reptiles, Fantastic Furries and Rainforest Animals, or choose a selection of animals for the host to bring. For children under the age of 5, the company brings five or six animals that children can interact with through holding, petting and feeding. For older children, party hosts can choose five or six animals for interaction as well as one for observation only. Available animals include the royal python, Brazilian short-tailed opossum, chinchilla, alligator snapping turtle and bearded dragon.

The Children's Museum in Easton offers interactive exhibits, such as the Dinosaur Den and Prehistoric Pathway, the Enchanted Forest, the Performance Center and the Kidsclinic. Party planners can arrange for a birthday party during the museum's regular operating hours or choose to have a before- or after-hours party throughout which party guests have private access to the facility. Party groups have access to the exhibits at the museum and a private party area for birthday cake and ice cream.

Indoor Playground

Indoor playgrounds and play centers offer birthday parties for children that can keep guests entertained for hours. Monkey Joe's party and play center in North Attleboro is equipped with inflatable bouncers and slides throughout the facility. Regular-operating-hours parties are available for groups of 24 guests or fewer, and you can reserve the facility for private use for larger parties. Party packages include two hours at the center, a private party room, invitations, beverages and party supplies. For an additional fee, party planners can arrange for a pizza lunch or dinner, ice cream and goody bags.

Outdoor Entertainment Center

During warm weather, arrange for a birthday party at an outdoor entertainment facility. Cartland of Cape Cod in Wareham offers a multitude of outdoor activities, including go-cart racing, bumper boats, batting cages and kiddie rides. Birthday-party packages are available for groups of eight children or more and include unlimited access to the activities at the park and lunch for each guest. Older children can try out the air cannons or climb into a robot for a round of boxing. Kids can ride on a fire engine, shoot water balloons and play a round of miniature golf.
