Gift Suggestions for Fathers

Gift Suggestions for Fathers thumbnail
Consider your father's preferences when gift giving.

Fathers, like everyone, are individual and unique. What one man would love as a gift another would not. So gift giving for fathers depends on the man, his lifestyle and your budget. It used to be basic choices for men but now there is so much more to choose from that you should be able to find something especially for your Dad both on his birthday and Fathers' Day.

  1. Standard Gifts

    • Giving your father something he wants that links to his work or hobbies will please him. He may be into gadgets so you can buy the latest thing -- a book reader for instance if he reads a lot. An iPad is a suggestion, but you may have to club together with siblings for this one. A spa day is something some fathers may like, to take away the stress of the work. An expensive pen or new briefcase might go down well if he is an office worker. A new wood for his golf kit would be appreciated.

    Unusual Gifts

    • Buying your father something different that he may not have thought of himself, but it actually turns out that he loves, is the ideal gift. Perhaps he never gave a thought to learning to fly a glider or riding round a quad-bike track, but when he gets the gift and actually uses it, he may well be thrilled, especially if he is starting to feel his age. Experience days are available for driving a Ferrari for a day, indoor sky-diving, a Hummer off-road experience and many more. There is also a good price range to suit your budget.

    Music Concert

    • Paying for your Dad to see a music concert with his favorite band would be well appreciated. You may have to go with him or get one of his friends who is interested in the same band to go too. He can remember being young again and whoop it up with everyone.

    Personalized Gifts

    • Presenting your father with something a bit quirky to make him laugh or show you care is another option. These are less expensive than some of the other suggestions so are a good alternative for those of you on a limited budget. A personalized love book containing all the reasons why you love your Dad may sound a bit sentimental, but he will appreciate it, especially when he is older. A relaxing massage pillow would be good for those days when he has had a hard day at work. If he is the cook in the family, a personalized cutting board would be perfect.
