Baby Shower Supplies for Twins
Planning a baby shower for a mother expecting twins is similar to planning a party for one little baby on the way. The guest list will often include the same friends and family members and decorations may have a "twin" theme but will not double when having multiples. The expectant mother will appreciate a simple but entertaining baby shower, as many women pregnant with multiples are not able to be very active and must avoid premature labor and unexpected complications. Does this Spark an idea?

Invites
-
Creating, purchasing or ordering invitations is the first step in planning a twin baby shower. A themed baby shower makes for an uncomplicated invitation option, as there are many choices for twin baby shower invitations available via an Internet search. Examples of themes include "Two Peas in a Pod" and "Double the Fun," or you could choose a general color scheme and build upon that. Invites will set the tone for the shower, so put some thought into the design. If you have a hand in crafts or scrapbooking, make the invitations yourself with rubber stamps and card stock.
Double Decorations
-
Even though the baby shower is for two babies, there is no need for double the decorations. Plan centerpieces, balloons, streamers, linens and signs in a theme of your choosing to adorn the walls of the baby shower location. If you order invitations with a specific theme, you'll often find banners and other custom decorations to match. Match balloons and streamers to the colors in the theme or find complementary or pastel colors to use as festive decor.

Twin Tableware
-
Use paper plates, paper napkins and plastic utensils, as opposed to porcelain or glass, during baby showers for twins. Disposable items promote an ease in clean-up and can correlate with any existing twin theme. If you have spent most of your shower funds on the decorations and invites, generalize the tableware in a complementary color or style. Disposable tableware should be available at your local dollar store or department store.
Cake
-
It's customary to eat cake at a baby shower, but some twin shower planners add another cake dimension. Diaper cakes are an up-and-coming item used during baby showers; these look like a three-tiered cake, but are made from disposable diapers with decorative ribbon surrounding the gift. If you choose to include edible cake as well as a diaper cake, provide small cupcakes instead of one large sheet cake. Distribute directions and materials to make diaper cakes at each guest table as a twin baby shower game.
