Scottish Wedding Favor Ideas

Traditional Scottish wedding favors are a nice added touch to give your guests as a way for you to express your gratitude to them for helping to celebrate your special day. Giving favors is not mandatory, but if you choose to do so, you can find all different types to fit your budget and to match the theme of your Scottish wedding.

  1. Welsh Wedding Spoons

    • Welsh wedding spoons are a wedding tradition for people of Celtic descent such as the Scottish. There are many different patterns to choose from, each with their own special meanings. Some of these patterns include flowers, grapes, hearts, diamonds and vines. Giving these to your guests as favors will allow them to have a distinctive keepsake by which to remember your wedding day.

    Flower Seeds

    • Packets of Scottish wedding flowers are a favor that can be enjoyed by all. Choose from a wide variety of flowers including lilacs, lilies, magnolias, roses, tulips and violets. Your wedding guests will be able to plant these new seeds in their yards as a symbol of your new marriage.

    Five Jordan Almonds

    • Jordan almonds are a good choice for a traditional Scottish wedding favor. If you choose to give these, you must give each guest five, as this has a special meaning. When put together, five Jordan almonds represent health, wealth, fertility, happiness and longevity. The symbolism behind this choice of wedding favors will add a special touch to your big day.

    Gift-filled Containers

    • Purchase small decorative containers to give your guests. Fill these containers with something wrapped and edible, such as hard candy. If you don't want to give candy, you could also opt for filling them with something pretty, such as dried flowers.

    Scottish Tablet

    • Give your guests a Scottish tablet, which is a type of candy that can be described as tasting like a combination of toffee and fudge. Distribute this as wedding favor to your guests in many different ways, including boxes, gift bags or drawstring bags. Match the packaging to your wedding colors for an added touch.
