The shores of Navarro Mills Lake near Dawson offer plenty of water recreation and several campgrounds managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Located on the south shore of the lake, the Liberty Hill Park campground offers water and electric hookups, two boat ramps, a fishing dock, a marina and a swimming area. On the northeast side of the lake, Oak Park offers campsites with water and electricity, a fishing pier, a boat ramp and a swimming area. Pecan Point Park, located on the north shore of Navarro Mills Lake, offers campsites with water and electricity and plenty of sites without hookups, perfect for tenters. Wolf Creek Park, also located on the north shore of the lake, offers water and electrical hookups, a fishing pier and a boat ramp with courtesy dock.
History and Paleontology

The Glen Rose area offers plenty of history and dinosaurs, with campgrounds located nearby. The city manages a campground that offers both RV and tent campsites. Take a swim in the The Plunge, one of the largest swimming pools in Texas, located at the camgpround. The Paluxy River Walk takes you to the historic town square and shops. Or, head to Dinosaur Valley State Park to see well-preserved dinosaur tracks in the Paluxy River's ancient riverbed. You can also camp at the park with amenities including water and electric hookups, fire rings and picnic tables.

Several campgrounds offer accommodations in Dallas and Fort Worth. The Dallas/Arlington KOA offers a location convenient to downtown Dallas. The campground caters to RVers with rigs up to 102 feet in length. Grassy tent sites are also available. You'll find full hookups, barbecue facilities, a laundry, children's playground and a pool. Nearby Bear Creek Campground of Mustang Park, located within the city limits of Fort Worth, offers a lakeside setting close to Fort Worth. The campground offers lakeside sites with electric and water hookups. The lake offers swimming, boating, fishing and other water sports.
State Parks

Several state parks offer camping accommodations, including Bastrop State Park and the adjoining Buescher State Park. Between the parks, you can bike on 12 miles of scenic roads, then head to your campsite in the trees on a small lake. The parks offer tent camping along with golfing and a swimming pool. Bonham State Park offers camping close to Dallas with boating, canoeing, swimming and fishing nearby. Campsites feature full hookups or tent sites.
