Hippie costumes for girls can include broomstick skirts; peasant tops; long, beaded necklaces and macrame belts. Hair or head scarves and wild flowers are nice additions. For boys, bell-bottom slacks in earth-tone colors or blue jeans, tie-dye shirts and vests present a quick hippie costume. Add accessories such as a head scarf or vintage sunglasses to complete the look.

The Brady Bunch dressed alike when performing, with the girls wearing skirts and the boys wearing trousers made of matching fabric. The blouses for both genders would match, and sometimes vests were worn to match the skirts or trousers. To produce the desired effect, this costume idea is best suited for a group of six containing three boys and three girls.
Sonny and Cher often wore somewhat matching costumes, but not quite as matching as the Brady Bunch. A long, straight wig for Cher, and a slightly long haircut or wig for Sonny, with a fake mustache if desired.
