Student Responsibility in the Classroom
Students have a responsibility in the classroom to honor the rules of the instructor and to respect others. The guidelines for student responsibilities should be followed to maintain a healthy learning environment where students may learn together in a peaceful setting.

When in elementary school, teachers guide students through specific activities and learning standards. Students should show independence as they continue through middle school and high school. They should become more independent while personally fulfilling their education requirements and allowing teachers to teach them. As students mature, their role in their education grows.
Disabilities

If you have a hearing or sight impairment, it is your responsibility to make arrangements so you can benefit from lessons in the classroom. The aid of specific services necessary for a successful education, such as a sign language interpreter, allow a student to absorb all of the material taught. Many schools do not offer disability services, so you must work with the school to find the help you need.

Classroom Etiquette

Students are expected to attend class every day unless specific arrangements have been made. Students should involve themselves in class activities and discussion when appropriate and should arrive to class on time, leaving only when it is over. Students are expected to show good behavior and not be disruptive towards others. Electronic devices should be turned off when in class.
Classroom Studies

Students are expected to pay attention to the instructor, do all of the work and ask questions when necessary. Exams should be taken when assigned, and all graded material should be reviewed to learn from mistakes. If there are any specific questions about an exam or grade, students are expected to ask the instructor.
