Royal Northern College of Music offers students the opportunity to earn a bachelor of music degree in one of three areas: principal study, academic studies or professional studies. The principal study option focuses on music, technical and creative development. The academic studies option has a focus on performance studies, musicianship, music history and theory. The professional studies option gives students the opportunity to go further into pathway options that include advanced jazz improvisation, conducting, chamber music, independent project, music for health, music in education and the community and orchestral/opera outreach. Manchester Midi School offers several study options for students to choose from. Course options include a 12-month diploma, nine-month diploma, a free course in music production that teaches students the basics, Logic 101, dance music production, basement DJ course, dance music business, Ableton Live course, scratch lab, one-on-one training and a taster DJ course. Students also have the option of learning the Ableton Live software in an online course.

Chetham's School of Music has a music program that allows students to study music for three hours each day in addition to practice time. The music program gives students eight opportunities to study, which include orchestral training, instrumental and vocal study, choral work, aural training, academic study, chamber music, music technology and composition. Students are required to have a principle study as well as a second study instrument. Students have two lessons each week in their principle study and one additional lesson each week in their second study.
