Centerpiece Ideas for Preschool
Adding a little decoration to the preschool classroom helps keep the kids engaged and excited. Plus, you can always swap out centerpieces for more holiday themed ones depending on the time of the year. You can even get the kids involved in the decorating so they can add their own personal touch to the centerpieces.

Christmas Tree Centerpiece
-
Start the winter holidays right by having your preschoolers make their own Christmas tree centerpieces to bring home. Purchase a small evergreen tree for each preschooler. You can find fake trees in craft shops. Pass out the trees to each student along with paste and plastic Christmas ornaments. Have the students decorate the trees however they want. Help them apply glue to the ornaments and then to the trees. Help with tying ribbons and bows. When the class is done decorating, collect the small trees, attach a label or tag to a branch with the student's name. At the end of the day, the paste should be dry.
Horn of Plenty
-
Before school lets out for Thanksgiving holiday, a great centerpiece to have your preschoolers build is the traditional and iconic horn of plenty. Make cones out of brown craft paper, twisting the point to look like a horn. Make one for each student. Pass out the horns to each of the students, along with kid-friendly paste, dried hay and a collection of plastic fruits and vegetables. Instruct the class to place the plastic fruits, vegetables and hay inside the horn and glue them in place. Walk around and help the students with gluing the pieces together and filling in empty spots with the hay. When the students finish their masterpieces walk around and tie ribbons around the horn to help hold the shape.

Fruit Bowl Centerpiece
-
A fruit bowl is a simple and useful centerpiece that preschoolers can make for their family. Pass out medium bowls made of white or clear plastic, one for each student. Place between the students a mix of paints and stickers. Instruct the preschoolers to use the art supplies to decorate their centerpiece bowls. Let them explore different creative avenues mixing colors and designs. Collect the bowls and set them to the side to dry completely. Once dried, fill the bowls with paper grass and a few pieces of fruit, then give back the centerpieces for the kids to take home.
Hand Print Plate Centerpiece
-
As holidays like Mother's Day and Father's Day approach, help your preschoolers make their parents a simple centerpiece gift. Pass around centerpiece trays to each of the students. Plastic trays make for a safe and cheap option. Give the students bowls of paints and instruct them to paint the trays with their hands to cover the trays in paint. Walk around to each student as they finish up their paintings and help them place a handprint in the center of the tray. Write their name and date it. Put the finished trays to the side to completely dry out before giving to the kids to take home.
