School Prom Games
High school juniors and seniors create a lot of memories at prom---dresses, corsages, limos, decorations, music and, of course, dancing. Make your prom night truly memorable by incorporating fun games at your dance. Games not only make your prom stand out from the rest of the proms, but they help create a lasting memory.

Circle of Friends
-
Kids tend to only hang out with their date and friends at the prom. Help students make new friends and interact with their other classmates by playing the Circle of Friends game at your prom. Gather the students in the center of the dance floor, standing close together. Each student must reach out and grab another person's hand. When everyone is holding the hands of two different people, they've formed a tangled mess. Now they must untangle themselves without letting go of their hands. They might have to climb over or under people to do so, eliciting a lot of laughs. Once everyone disentangles themselves, all the students should be holding hands in a single large circle.
Dance Off
-
The prom is all about dancing, so hold a dance off. Clear a circle in the center of the dance floor. Invite two students to come forward to compete against each other as the other students watch. The DJ or band picks the song --- hip hop, rock, pop or country --- and the two students dance. After the song ends, have the crowd cheer for each contestant separately. Whoever receives the loudest cheers, wins. You can keep this game going as long as the prom goers stay interested. You can also have couples compete against each other in a dance off.

Dominoes
-
To play Dominoes, hand each boy and girl a domino made out of cardboard as they enter the prom. A set of dominoes --- blanks to double sixes --- consists of 28 pieces. You need to hand out at least two complete sets, one set to the girls, the other to the boys, for the game to work. Prom-goers must follow the rules of dominoes to find a dance partner. For example, a boy with a 5-2 domino can dance with any girl that has a five or a two on her domino. Throughout the dance, instruct the students to periodically switch partners while following the domino rules.
Limbo Contest
-
See how low prom-goers can go with a game of limbo. This game works especially well with tropical-themed proms. Have two students or chaperons hold the ends of a long stick. Prom-goers form a line and pass under the stick. With each round, the stick gets closer and closer to the ground, making walking under it more difficult. If a student touches the stick or falls down, he's out. The last remaining student wins the limbo contest.
