Fortunately, there is a wealth of free resources on the Internet written for and by teachers, providing everything from worksheets to use in class to full lesson plans. Teachers Net is a comprehensive website offering more than 4,000 free lesson plans for use in the classroom, from preschool through high school and adult education. Lesson plans are contributed by teachers across the country, and include related crafts, worksheets, projects and tips for effectively conveying information. Teachers Net also offers forums for teachers, as well as the ability to create an account to contribute your own lesson plans and tips. You can search Teachers Net by class level, theme, subject and even state.
Concept to Classroom

Concept to Classroom is a website that offers a series of free online workshops designed for teachers and educators to improve their classroom practices and help them teach to a set academic standard. Concept to Classroom includes self-paced online workshops on After School Programs, Curriculum Re-design, Collaborative Teaching, Inquiry Based Learning, Interdisciplinary Learning and more. Workshops feature graphics and audio to accompany text, as well as video clips of real teachers implementing Concept to Classroom practices in their schools.

HotChalk: The Lessons Plan Page

HotChalk offers teacher resources sponsored by Concordia University's Masters in Teaching program. More than 4,000 lesson plans are available, covering traditional subjects such as language arts and math as well as computer science, physical education, health arts and music. HotChalk also provides resources to help teachers develop their own lesson plans, along with ideas for implementing them in the classroom. As with many teacher resources, HotChalk gives teachers the opportunity to register with the site and participate in teacher forums and chats.

The Open University, a free online resource designed to provide courses in a number of subjects, offers a wealth of lessons for teachers. The Open University is a primarily text-based resource, but it is ideal for educators looking to improve their practices in a specific area.
