Christmas Gifts for Kids Under 10

Christmas Gifts for Kids Under 10 thumbnail
Books for children under 10 make wonderful gifts.

You should have no trouble finding a Christmas gift for a kid under the age of 10 since there are so many desirable gifts from which to choose. Kids love toys, but kids enjoy receiving other types of gifts as well. When choosing a gift for a kid under 10, make sure your gift is age appropriate. Games usually have the recommended age printed on the box or package.

  1. Toys and Games

    • Gifts for kids under 10 can include soft and cuddly stuffed animals, board games, craft games and dolls. Young children love stuffed animals, but even some older children under the age of 10 like them. Girls of this age group love to play with dolls and dress them up, which makes dolls, doll clothes and doll accessories a great gift idea. Boys enjoy board games, and one to consider is a chess game. A craft game is a great gift for a boy or a girl. One to choose is an origami kit. Origami is a Japanese art that involves folding paper to make creations such as flowers and birds. A book on this fine art would go well with an origami kit.

    Clothing

    • A gift for a child under 10 that would make a mother happy as well as her child is a new dress, pajamas or a jacket. Many little girls love wearing pretty dresses, and every child could use a new jacket to wear when the weather is on the cool side. A down jacket is a good choice because it provides extra warmth. If the child is a toddler, you may want to buy an insulated jacket with a pair of matching snow pants. An attractive jacket made for rainy days is another good gift. If pajamas are your gift choice, keep in mind that kids like themed pajamas, novelty pajamas or pajamas with cartoon characters on them.

    Jewelry

    • Jewelry for kids under 10 includes watches, bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings. Sterling silver bunny earrings make a lovely gift, and so does a bunny pendant on a chain. Charm bracelets are a good choice for girls, too, and they come in a variety of designs. A birthstone ring makes a fine Christmas gift for a girl as well. An engraved ID bracelet is suitable for either a boy or a girl.

    Books

    • Many kids under the age of 10 enjoy reading a good book. Illustrated books are an appropriate choice for babies, and storybooks with animal characters are a good choice for kids between the ages of two and six. Books for kids between the ages of eight and nine include children's fiction and non-fiction books. A book is a valuable gift for a child under 10 because it can enhance a child's vocabulary. Books also are fun to read.
